Terms of use
The legal entity that operates Substriva, and its ABN, will be stated here before any institutional agreement is signed. These terms cover the public site and summarise how workspaces are used. Institutional use is governed by a written pilot agreement, which prevails over this page where they differ.
What Substriva is, and is not
Substriva shows what sources say about public land: who the public record says is responsible, what a source states, what changed and what remains unknown. It is contextual and evidentiary information. It is not legal, title, survey, planning, environmental or safety advice or clearance, and it is not a government service or an official register. Absence of a record is not evidence that nothing happened. Context, not clearance.
Boundaries, imagery and records come from their stated sources, at their stated scale, date and accuracy. Check anything you rely on against the source and, where it matters, a qualified professional.
Third-party data
Map layers and datasets remain subject to their owners’ licences, shown with each source (for example Vicmap and PLM25 data under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0). Attribution is not endorsement: showing a source does not mean its owner has reviewed or endorsed Substriva. Representative demonstration content is marked as such and is not an official record.
Your data and your responsibilities
- Your organisation keeps its rights in the data it imports, connects and records. It gives Substriva permission to store and process that data to provide the workspace, and to publish a record only when your publisher chooses to.
- Only provide data your organisation is entitled to use this way, including any licence conditions on imagery or GIS layers. Do not upload personal information that is not needed.
- Keep sign-in credentials secure under your organisation’s policies, and tell us promptly about suspected misuse.
- Do not attempt to access other organisations’ data, disrupt the service, or use it to harass anyone or to make claims about land that its sources do not support.
- You can export your organisation’s data at any time.
The service
Substriva is under active development. Features may change, and availability is not guaranteed except as a pilot agreement provides. We will give notice of material changes that affect a workspace.
To the extent the law allows, Substriva is not liable for decisions made in reliance on information it displays. Nothing in these terms excludes rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot be excluded.
