Institutional access
Substriva is a provenance and evidence layer for public land. It works alongside your GIS, not instead of it: your layers stay where they are, and Substriva records who did what, from which source, what that source establishes and what it does not. Context, not clearance.
What you can do in a workspace
- See your area on one map: your organisation’s extent, your own GIS layers, the State’s public-land (PLM25) reference and your licensed imagery, each labelled with its source, date and coordinate system.
- Use the data you already have: connect an ArcGIS Feature or Map Server layer read-only, or import a zipped Shapefile, GeoPackage, GeoJSON or CSV. GDA2020 and GDA94, geographic, MGA zones and Vicgrid are supported; the coordinate system is confirmed by you, never guessed, and every conversion is recorded.
- Find a parcel by SPI or lot on plan (Vicmap Property, where enabled). A parcel boundary is shown as a reference; it does not establish who manages the land.
- Record what was done against a managed area, with its evidence, and send it for review by someone else in your organisation.
- Export everything at any time as GeoPackage, GeoJSON or CSV, with sources and coordinate systems kept.
Nothing becomes public automatically
Imports, connections and records are visible only to your organisation. A record is published only after it has been reviewed by a different person and a person holding your organisation’s separate publisher authority chooses to publish it. Substriva never writes to your GIS.
Where Substriva has no record, it says unknown / no current evidence on record. That never means untreated, safe or clear.
How sign-in works
Use Land manager sign in. You are sent to your own organisation’s sign-in (for example Microsoft Entra ID), through Cloudflare Access. Substriva issues no passwords. After signing in you land in your organisation’s workspace.
Signing in with a council or government email address does not, by itself, open a council workspace or give publishing authority. Each person is linked to their organisation and role by that organisation’s administrator, or by Substriva with the organisation’s written agreement.
Land manager sign in See the representative demonstration
The demonstration uses synthetic data only. It is not an official council record and cannot publish anything.
Starting a pilot
- Name the people who will capture, review and publish, and who administers access.
- Tell us the GIS and imagery hosts you want to connect. Substriva approves each host for your organisation before a layer can be added.
- Confirm the licence basis for any imagery you want shown. Substriva does not supply or resell imagery.
- Agree in writing what the pilot covers, how long data is kept and how it is returned at the end.
Write to pilots@substriva.com.au. Taking part implies no endorsement of Substriva by your organisation, and Substriva will not describe you as a partner unless you agree in writing.
